This is a weird thing to pull out of that, but according to the AP article on him, Colquitt's 42 punts inside the 20 are an NFL record. Or would be if the Cards' punter didn't currently have 44, but he's punted the ball 31 times more than Colquitt has.
Still, that's more than a "nice season". On 56% of his punts, Colquitt has put the other team in a position where they have to drive 80+ yards for touchdowns. The Cards' punter has only done it on 42% of his.
The punter with the best net average doesn't have half the punts inside the 20 that Colquitt does, and his net is only 4 yards better. I dunno, if I could have a punter who consistently pins teams inside the 20, or one that gives me an extra 4 net yards, I think I'd take the first guy.
Especially if those 4 yards Colquitt lacks are the difference between the ball bouncing into the endzone for a touchback or not.
