There are plenty of honest shops out there, I know, I own one. However its in Colorado.
You do need to find a GOOD shop, not just any old shop. You cant go out and buy a BMW and then complain about the price it takes to maintain it. A lot of the equipment needed to work on them is very expensive and therefor shops charge more to work on them. The dealer is going to be the most expensive but if a cheaper shop keeps selling you parts you dont need, they arent any cheaper. Good luck and congrats on your new car!
