Don't think that would be an issue with anyone else. Howland is unemployed and probably not getting a job if Missouri fails to hire him. Can't imagine they'd have a hard time finding $2 million+ for Howland, and can't imagine he'd turn that down.
Everyone who is connected to him seems to think he wants "reasonable" money.

How "extended" is the athletics budget? If Haith was making 1.3, as reported, then you'd need an extra $2.2 a year to bring in Marshall. Given the hundreds of millions they are pouring into facilities, how in the hell could such a comparatively small amount of money be a real impediment? If they were as strapped as it seems, I don't even know how they could continue with construction, as it seems like any small budgetary hiccup would cripple expansion ideas.
