Just picked one up. The ObamaPacman Target inventory finder really works.
Story:
The Target store in question is 35 minutes away. So I call over, and the guy in electronics tells me that yes, they have a 32GB WiFi in stock. He can't hold it for me, and he won't let me give him a CC number to buy it in advance. So I get in the car and head over, hoping it's still there when I get there.
So I get to Target, head back to Electronics, and as I get there, I see a young-ish couple at the register, and the woman is crying. I overhear the cashier say, "I'm sorry, but I can't hold it for you. Try to clear things up with your bank and if it's still here, it's yours. Otherwise, I have to sell it if someone wants it."
It never even crossed my mind....
Sure enough, he finishes with them, and I ask, "I called earlier about the 32GB WiFi iPad2. Do you still have it?"
The woman's boyfriend/husband/whatever says, "we just bought it."
The Target cashier says, "yep, we sure do."
The woman starts crying harder, and thankfully, the Target cashier got me in and out of there in no time.
Right place, right time.
