Are you ****ing kidding me, dude?
For one thing, I've said countless times that I *LIKE* the show. I'm not sure how many more times I have to say it for it to sink in. In fact, I like Tyrion more than just about any other TV character since Omar. I just want more from it; I want it to diversify a little bit. There's absolutely nothing wrong with that. If I'm disappointed by GoT, it's because it could be better, and I like it enough that I think it deserves to be.
Second, there are quite a few shows that are better than Game of Thrones. This is NOT the be-all, end-all of "intrigue" shows. House of Cards does political intrigue WAY better than GoT. Breaking Bad did power struggles WAY better than GoT. No, I'm not comparing genres, but specific aspects of what people say makes GoT so good. No, those aren't fantasy shows, so if you want to say that this is the best fantasy series ever, I'd be okay with that. I think it is, but mostly because I can't name any other fantasy series that have aired. Even if I could, they wouldn't be better, because GoT is that good.
Frankly, I think it's that a lot of people really love the fantasy genre, and it's something that is basically missing on TV. So, when something like this comes along, and it's THIS GOOD (read: very good), people go crazy for it. That doesn't mean it's a perfect show for everyone. It IS possible to like a show and still criticize it.

Yeah, and they have to use a lot of budget on CGI already in order to do the direwolves, the dragons, and the castles and cities.

Which haven't contributed in any hugely meaningful way to the story, either. Yay, the dragons flew around and nipped at the Mother of Dragons. Such battle, much gasps, many CGIs . . . so dragons! That money could have been better spent if that's the issue holding them back from doing battles. But I don't think it is, and I have no real qualms with the way the money is being spent. The CGI on the last episode was very cool, especially the last 5 minutes.
