I've tried nearly every "diet" out there. They all work, as long as you stick to them.

Whats frustrating to me is that I like a wide variety of foods and drinks, and I don't like to deny myself those simple pleasures.
I'm a food whore. I absolutely love food. I'm the guy who would make moms blush when I went to a friend's house because I was asking for seconds and thirds (thank god my metabolism is high as hell, which is probably one reason I should stay out of these threads... because I haven't ever had to deal with the shit that other people do as far as weight loss). When I travel, I travel to eat, researching the restaurants I'll eat at for months in advance. I spend an average of 1-2 hours in the kitchen an evening cooking. In short: I'm a foodie.

Fasting, though, has allowed me to just ignore all the shit meals and calories I was taking in out of habit and really focus on enjoying and doing the food right during my eating periods. It also has allowed me the ability to splurge on occasion when traveling or during holidays with the confidence that I can get the pounds off again if necessary.

But yeah, I freaking love to eat. But I'm also an all or nothing guy. If I get started eating something, then it's really hard for me to stop until it's all gone. IF I start in on chocolate chip cookies or cake or something that someone brings to work, then I'll probably have multiple servings, not one. It's much easier for me to never start eating the food than to stop once I do eat it.

My wife, on the other hand, does small snacking portions (handfuls of almonds, piece of fruit, slice of cheese, etc...) all day long with no problem.
