He doesn't train them b/c he wants to create an army of psychopaths, he does it b/c they are already displaying sociopathic tendencies. In some ways, it's probably the second most humane thing he could do (aside from putting a bullet in the base of their skull).

I hope they go this route. I hope they go more sociopath than hero with respect to Dexter. Sure, we'll root for Dexter to kill the "bad guy" but I'd like them to show Dexter in a much more ambiguous light, like I mentioned earlier.
