Jared Allen getting his butt kicked....

I'm suprised I didn't see a thread about this....did anyone else see Jared Allen getting his ass absolutely kicked on the interception play by Surtain (where he got hurt)? I believe it was Allen's man that the "holding" flag was thrown on, but seriously, the guy was pummeling him. I'm talking punches thrown, just really going after him......anyone have a little video clip of that play or the ability to post it?

I was at the game and didn't really see it until I got home and watched it again He got really abused though

the announcers said the o-lineman would incur a fine for those actions. I was really surprised that there wasn't a flag thrown for the punches and an ejection. but..

I didn't see it that way either.

Allen was on the ground getting the business at first, but then got to his feet and went after the guy even though his helmet has off.

Obviously the Hall was tired of Allen abusing him off the edge play after play.

Allen did the right thing. The other guy should have been ejected.

Tough thing about being a defensive lineman...you are on the attack...if something happens and you fall down it can get pretty rough. It seems Jarod had a lot of momentum and the lineman used it against him to send him down. Which is normal...its two guys in a trench fight.

Most the time if an offenisve lineman sees nowhere else he can go to help within reason he will just jump on the defender. It seems in this case...this guy had a little more to tell Jared. They must have really been having some wars play after play because he really went at him.

I remember being spat on alot in a position like that.

don't get me wrong, I'm not ragging on Allen at all....not much he could have done. I'm just suprised that there wasn't an ejection or something a bit more serious as it looked pretty out of control. I imagine his blocker was a bit frustrated with the day

It was over the top...I believe an ejection for something of that nature would be really over the top.

There were a couple of plays where Allen went down and the guy blocking just started whaling on him. Not a class act, but then again he won't be in the league much longer the way Allen was schooling him.

By the way, it wasn't a lineman that was fighting with him. It was their TE, Baker. He was the only guy on the entire team that showed any fire.

I did see the incident, and I agree with both points.

All that play was the O-lineman getting frustrated as Hell by getting his ass whipped all day long. He let out some aggression against Allen because that's all he could do to attempt to get the best of him. To say Allen got pummeled is taking it out of context, IMO.
