I just realized that the Jags losing this week actually hurt the Chiefs...

Jax had the tie breaker over Tenn, meaning if Tenn and Jags and Chiefs were 9-7 after week 17, Chiefs would be ahead of both of them because Tenn would be eliminated (same way Denver would be) becaus of the division tiebreaker...

Hence NE winning hurt the Chiefs... now we need NE to beat Tenn...

Heh, as much as I think our playoff hopes are a lost cause, we're sitting better right now than we have in 3 weeks.

We must win next week. Then, with just a tad more help next week, we could be handed a first round playoff stomping from a real team.

Somehow I doubt the refs will help us like they did the Steelers.

Next weeks games...

Denver has SF at home
Jets get Chokeland at home (At Miami tommorow)
Tennessee gets Pats at home
Cinnci gets Pitts at home
We host the Jags.

I'm thinking it will be hard for Denver and the Jets to lose next week.

Tennessee will have their hands full and will probably lose to the Pats.

Cinnci facing Pittsburg will be interesting - will Cowher settle for a losing record in what could be his last season? Cinnci got knocked out by Pitts last year. This may be the game of the week in the AFC.

If we take care of the jags, and somehow the 49ers knock of the donks, who knows, it could happen.

Answering the questions re: the Pats:

1. Pats over Titans -- don't be so sure. Pats might ignore the game. The chances of getting the #2 seed are exceedingly small. Pats might rest up key guys instead for the playoff push.

2. Pats getting #2 seed -- very unlikely. We're in a bad position on tie-breakers for the most part (all our losses were in the AFC etc.)

I wouldn't count on it. NE has NOTHING to play for next week. I expect most of the starters to sit.

That said, when u start talking about scenarios that require the Chiefs to win and three of four other teams to lose there's not a lot to get worked up about.

In order to win in the playoffs, you have to know what the playoffs taste like.

This team hasn't even had a lick since 2003 (well, 2004 technically, but you know.) I hope we get in, even though there will be a 99.9% chance of certain implosion. I know the chances of us getting in are remote, so I'm not going to beat my head against the wall.

But geez, to say that you'll be happier if the Chiefs don't make the playoffs than if they do... that's pretty messed up.

I don't think our odds of making the playoffs are good at all. It is a complicated playoff scenario though, and there's nothing wrong with actually figuring out what we need. I don't see why people get their underwear in a knot over it. There's really nothing to complain about. There's nothing wrong with being informed, and Chiefs or not it's fun to discuss playoff possibilities. What the heck are we doing here otherwise?

You better start posting negative stuff about the Chiefs and their uncanny ability to piss off their fans right now or you'll be labeled a dumbass by the geniouses.

Hello, we LOST to Cleveland. Get over it. We dont deserve to be in the playoffs anyway. Let Tennesse go, I believe they have earned it.

I ain't so sure. Tenn has been winning some games lately - they just beat Buffalo, week before that they beat Jacksonville. Just prior to that they beat Houston & Indy. Leading up to that they beat the Giants & Philly. Just before that they lost to Baltimore by 1 point. Their current win streak of 6 games is second only to Roidy Eggo. They could straight up beat the Pats even if the Pats were trying.

No, the Chiefs hurt themselves by losing games they should have won. They don't deserve to go to the Playoffs this year. It was the Buffalo game last year and the Cleveland and Miami games this year...they should be ascending, not decending at this time of the year

INCONSISTENCY IS KILLING THEM!!!!

i happen to fall on the side of "we're not making the playoffs." sure its fun to talk about it, all the differant scenarios that could happen. it would be real easy right now, had they just taken care of buisness.
