OK Shoot me...how about trading Tony G. and LJ to get draft picks

Do we even consider doing that ? I would HATE to see TONY G. leave KC, b ut I want him to win a RING. But I would think we could get some teams to give us two draft picks, maybe a 3rd and a 4th. What could we get for L-J. I don't know what if we could get a 2nd and 3rd for
L-J ? I don't know if we could get a 2nd and 3rd round pick for LJ now
with his injury.

Even if the Chiefs had 5 first round picks and a boatload of other rounds it wouldn't help because the front office sucks. How many opportunities has Carl and his list of cronies had to get the job done? And what makes you think a bunch of draft picks would help him/them do any better?

Look, throughout the 90's we had an awsome D with shitty offense. Then we "transformed" into an awsome offense and ignored the defensive side of the ball.

Now, we are rebuilding the team with Defense in mind injecting talented players on offense that don't have an opportunity to play to win. Obviously our line stinks, but even if they were great, Herm's philosophy isn't going to get us anywhere beyond a first round playoff loss. Changes must start in the front office that's the bottom line. Carl is the only common link in the failure of the Chiefs to place a balanced team on the field.

Me too. No sense trying to fix a mistake with another one.

How many of these threads do we need?Jezus h christ. The die was set last off season by King Carl. We can't trade Tony G or LJ. All of their signing bonus becomes immediately due under the cap.

We can't trade them no matter how good a deal we could get. And we are not going to get a deal of any kind because they know we can't trade them without destroying the cap.

Can we get this, learn this. This is fact in the NFL 2008. You can't sign players and then trade them. This isn't baseball.

This is blatantly false.

The Chiefs spent the overwhelming majority of their first day draft choices on defensive players during Vermeil's tenure. The problem isn't that they "ignored" the defensive side of the ball; it's that they hired to the wrong coaches to coach the defense and those coaches failed to properly evaluate draft choices and free agents.

2001: Eric Downing
2002: Ryan Sims, Eddie Freeman
2003: Kawika Mitchell, Julian Battle
2004: Junior Siavii, Keyaron Fox
2005: Derrick Johnson, Trade for Surtain

That's nine players in 5 drafts. DJ was a solid pick. The Surtain trade hasn't panned out. The other seven players were a waste.

If the Chiefs had drafted BPA instead of chasing defensive players, this team may have better personnel to this day.

the money is already spent

the horse has already left the barn

that ship has sailed

there is no going back

that bridge is burnt

once the signing bonus is spent the team ain't gonna trade them.

TG? Never.
LJ? If it were possible, which it's not, I'd send him packing. I kind of think of him as a delayed bust.

I understand how you feel; unfortunately I think that train has left the station; LJ w/ his BA contract; TG with his large contract & age.

I just hope KC can get him to a SB before he retires; or he catches on for a 1-2 yr stint on a SB bound team etc.
