Hurricanes $uck

Not just the storm surge, floods, wind, rain & tornadoes that accompany them, but the FREAKING PEOPLE FREAKING OUT!
Living on the upper Texas coast I'm pretty used to them. But some folks here in Houston are acting like it's the end of the world. Gas lines, water lines, battery lines, people evacuating when they don't need to & getting in the way of those that do, etc...I've had everything I need for the better part of a week now, mainly because we just went through it last week with Gustov. Ike was out there, everyone knew it could come our way, so why not prepare early??? Oh well, it's gonna get interesting...

You guys hang in there. We're watching closely. Most my in-laws are in Houston and we have countless friends in the city. In fact, I lived in League City when I first moved there in 95. League City is just north of Galveston and I was always very nervous about a Hurricane coming through.

They're saying over 1 million customers without power in Houston. And the hardest part of the storm hasn't hit yet.

There are also several reports saying that there have been a number of emergency calls from Galveston from people asking for help to be rescued.... which is a scary thought.

It's HERE and things are pretty radical...
Sideways rain and very windy - things tearing up all around me and a bunch of stuff banging off the house. So far am holding up okay - no power which makes it worse. The eye is close so gonna go outside and check
things out in a bit...

THIS IS WAY COOL but VERY SCARY!

Well, best of luck to everybody.

There was apparently some Godawful train wreck in L.A. that killed several people earlier today as well.

What a lovely day.

I hope TEX and Claythan are OK. It has been a long time since one of them has posted.
