I got the invite to my 20th last Spring.
Had a chuckle, threw it away and never gave it another thought. Zero interest in seeing anyone from my HS days.

I helped with the planning, so I went up a night early. Wife came up the next day, 11 months pregnant with our third, and the two little gils in tow.
Got propositioned by a girl I knew in high school. Didn't know if she was hot for me or ANYBODY, so I blew it off, told her I was happily maried and couldn't do it. Found out I was more nteresting than I though I was. It was kind of cool, but I also felt guilt for those that I ignored/disrespected in HS. I realize now howhard those folks life must've been. If anything else, take a moment and let those folks feel special and memorable for good reasons. It'll make their weekend.

I just had my 10th but i didnt go. I was a 5th year senior haha. I was kinda bad, and i was at a continuations cool for 3 years. The school board gave me a chance to spend my 5th year at a regular high school, but i had to do night school 3 days a week in order to graduate. So, i said what the hell and took the 2nd chance they gave me and i went back. I didnt know anyone really. I was so swamped with so much school work. If i went, i wouldnt even really know anyone. So its pointless for me to ever go to any.

Went to my 10th and had just gotten married and was in the Army at the time. I was almost the only 1 there who was even close to the same shape as I was in HS and had one of the best looking women there. One of our star b-ball players was over 300lbs. All in all, made me feel pretty good by comparison.

I went to 10 and 15 and had a nice time.
Small school and most of us got along pretty well. Its true that some of the finer ones no longer were, and there were a couple of late bloomers that had....improved signficantly. I found the 15 more laid back, less evaluation and career-dick measuring than 10. I had some nice conversations with a couple of people I wasn't the nicest to in HS....it was a very level playing field as adults. There is some truth to understanding "why" some people acted the way they did, after learning or understanding more about their home life....I made a couple of appologies that were well recieved. I'm sure larger schools are different, but I'm glad I went. very laid back, at a rural cabin-park thing... I didn't enjoy my old pals that never did anything since HS and all they have are those "member that one time" stories.....yes...still do, I just have more to tell now. That part was sad, as was discussing the dead classmates. I'll go to #20 if they have it. Whats funny is I occasionally do some work at the local school, and I have worked with several students who are kids of people I went to school with. The apple usually doesn't fall far from the tree. |

I went to my 10th way back when. I moved away right after HS and didn't keep in touch with very many people. So I walk into the Hall and looked around for anybody I might remember. Didn't see a soul I knew. So I head over to find the Bar and lo and behold there were all my old friends hanging out at the bar. Some things never change.
And as someone else said. Most of the hot chicks were no longer hot and there was one chick who was an ugly duckling in school who was smoking hot. Go figure. |

I just went to my 20 year reunion in August. Nothing real interesting from the reunion itself, but my friends who went to the happy hour the night before said a couple guys who used to get into fights at all the parties back in school ended up getting into a fight at the bar the night before the reunion. Too funny.
Only difference from the 10 year was that everyone wore suits to the 10 year, while 95% of the guys wore dockers and golf shirts to the 20 year. Girls still wore dresses, and the girls that were popular in HS looked like they had worked real hard to look good for the reunion. None of the popular girls who showed up had gotten fat. I was surprised to see that guys who were all born the same year now looked so different age-wise. Some guys still looked like they were in their 20's, while others lost a lot of hair, gained weight, or just looked old. I think I look pretty young for my age, but it surprised that there were quite a few guys who still looked a lot like they did in HS. Most of my good friends now became my friends in HS, so I sat at a table with them and talked to them most of the night. My wife knows their wives, so she talked to them while us guys were able to walk around. Didn't go out of my way to approach people that I didn't hang out with in HS, just said hi if I ran into them at the bar. And there were a lot of people I didn't recognize (we had a class of 500), so I didn't bother approaching those people. I did recognize a couple guys that I partied with occasionally in HS but haven't seen in more than 10 years, and a couple of them didn't recognize me when I said hi. That's kind of humbling. All in all, it was a fun night. I'd do it again.

You guys are a bunch of ancient people. Wow - 20 year reunions.
I can't even imagine that right now. Ask me again next summer. |

I went to my 10 and had a so-so time, mostly because I had changed a lot (lost a lot of hair) and I was class president so I knew everyone. I was also kinda depressed that a lot of the folks were still living in the same area doing shit jobs. A few of the skanky chicks were still skanky.
20-year was way better. I was i a more secure place with myself, and a lot of the skanks stayed home, saw a bunch of people who weren't at the 10. I agree that everyone;s the same age, but a lot of them look older or younger. It was weird how you could walk right back into a room with people you haven't seen for 20 years and have easy conversations with the same dynamic you did two decades ago. You feel really sorry for the guy who comes alone and gets smashed out of the gils and has to be asked to leave. Don't be that guy. |

I skipped my 10 year this summer. No sense in traveling 1000 miles back to Iowa to see a bunch of people I haven't been away from long enough to care.
About 5 years ago one of my best friends from high school's mom died, went to her funeral and ran into a bunch of people I hung out with in high school. His mom was awesome so it was not on the kind of terms you'd like to see everyone, but that was the last I saw of them. Probably attend my 20 year reunion, well, maybe. Go Riders! |

I went to my 20 year a few years ago to meet up with a few people that I wanted to see and it was very enjoyable. Some had changed, some had not. Had a great time the last night as a small group went dancing/drinking at a local bar. One of the girls in our class married Geep Chryst, who was the OC for the Chargers during the Ryan Leaf years and then with Arizona when Jake Plummer was there. He's now with the Panthers staff. http://www.panthers.com/Team/CoachBio.aspx?id=1902
He had some GREAT stories early on that night and that's why I'm pulling for him to be on the Chiefs staff at some point so I can get some perks. ![]() As far as reunions go, the 20th was the only one I'd go to. It was really fun, but something I'd only do once. |

Missed my 30th this summer. I don't really mind because I have gotten fat since I saw most of those people.
I went to my 20th reunion with my (at the time) 25 year old wife....who was also 8 months pregnant. I wasn't fat yet either. It was kinda special. Heard lotsa wispering. I also went to my 10th. A lot of people didn't recognize me because I was 4'11' and 96 lbs. my freshman year. I really grew my senior year, and freshman year in college. I showed up at 6'0' and 185lbs and a full beard. Since I was single still I hooked up with several of the girls from the reunion, later. It was fun. True statement about some of the hot chicks getting fat and/or ugly and some of the average chicks turning attractive. Made me glad I didn't disrespect too many any girls in HS. Funny thing...in retrospect, I was still an asshole at the time. I used those women and discarded them. That really wasn't cool. |
