BUCS’ DOMINIK ON CHIEFS’ SHORT LIST

Tampa Bay Buccaneers pro personnel director Mark Dominik first caught the eye of Kansas City Chiefs owner Clark Hunt when he was a scouting intern in 1994. Nearly 15 years later, Hunt is reportedly seeking a bright, young executive.

And he believes that Dominik could fit that profile, according to the St. Petersburg Times.

Now that Dominik’s career has progressed, the 37-year-old has emerged as a candidate for the Chiefs’ General Manager vacancy created by Carl Peterson’s resignation.

Per the report, Dominik has been informally talking with the Chiefs for several weeks.

Dominik faces stiff competition, though, for the position from Scott Pioli of the Patriots, as well as Chris Polian of the Colts and Jimmy Raye of the Chargers.

Unless Pioli formally declines overtures from the Chiefs, however, Dominik most likely will not be offered a job.

That said, he could join the Chiefs as a lateral hire after his contract expires in May, if the new G.M. is willing to hire him.

It would clearly be a popular move among Chiefs fans to fire him. If he were gutless, he would have already fired him to appease the fans.

Herm Edwards is an easy guy to fire.

I think Hunt wants to keep him.

Hunt will be making a terrible mistake should he keep Herm.
The fans don't want Herm gone because he is disliked as a person.
Herm is not a coach, he has proven that. Fans want a coach. Fans worth a crap will not support this franchise with this clown as coach.

Sounds like the whole short list thing was BS. It came out in the last few days that this guy hadnt been interviewed, so if Clark is telling him he wont get the job, maybe he was never actually being considered. And with the various media reports bringing this guys name up, maybe Clark was just being nice and gave him a heads up that he wasnt interested.
