A few words from Gblowfish

From a private conversation with gblowfish. Posted with permission from gblowfish.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

HI BRC: I think most of the posters on this board think you're a good egg. This whole deal today got way out of hand based on what this thing really was, two angry guys having an exchange. Some of the questions that have been asked, here's some feedback: Jack Harry sent me an email on Monday and asked me if Haley really did this, and to describe what happened. I sent Jack a lengthy explanation and said "you should ask the coach if he had a run in with a fan after the game, and if Coach used an obscene gesture." I also told him that EDITED NAME, sitting next to me, also saw this go down, and he could email EDITED NAME and get his input. EDITED NAME gave the same explanation. Mrs. Blowfish was seated on my right. She also saw this happen, but she's a EDITED PROFESSION, and the last thing I wanted was to get her mixed up in this.

In journalism terms, these are three witnesses too closely related to collaborate the story. I did not ask Jack to talk about this publicly, and I don't think he should have until he had gathered better evidence. I think he should have waited until he could find another positive witnesses to confirm what happened. He did not lie to the public, his commentary was accurate. But neither EDITED NAME or I encouraged him, we just answered his questions the best we could. Apparently the press had not been able to locate anybody else to confirm the story, and probably the only others who saw it happen (it was real fast, just a quick gesture lasted only a second) were the Chiefs own security guys, and they're not going to risk their jobs by ratting out the coach. No photos, no other witnesses, so the easy PR thing is deny everything. And discredit the source of the criticism. No pictures, he said she said, and Game Over.

I see no good in pressing on this any further, unless somebody else can confirm what we saw. It pisses me off that I'm now suspected of being a liar. All I can do is tell the truth, and I've done that since the beginning of this whole mess.

I hope you and the rest of the CP understand while I let this thing play itself out. CP has a great bunch of fans, and are smart enough to know when the PR is being pulled over their eyes. Perhaps you'll welcome me back later and consider my thoughs with an open mind and with reputation in tact. Merry Christmas, the best to you, all the CP and families. Thanks for sticking up for me today. I really appreciate it. George Blowfish

further more, haley is a public figure and leader, who is paid a lot of money. he has made mistakes you can't blame on talent. when you coach like shit, your players play like shit, the fans are going to let you know, its our god given right as fans. as the head coach of a professional football team, you can't lose composure.

Well then why don't you pick a good spot where you know that Haley has to walk by on his way to going somewhere that he has to be and then spring some great criticism on him in an angry tone of voice and then tell all of your folks and friends about how proud you are of yourself for doing it so that they could be proud of you too.

As I said earlier, it might be okay to say something funny that is not too personal, but laying in wait to scream bloody murder in somebody's face is nothing that anyone should want to do.

I would be embarrassed to see something like that.

And why act in a way that the Chiefs will now have to build an awning or something or restrict access near the railing?

Considering that the press box is being moved from the best view in the NFL to the top of the stadium, why don't the Chiefs reserve the first couple of rows behind the bench near the tunnel for the press, so that they do not have to worry about players or coaches getting fined for responding inappropriately to silly fan behavior?

What about the fans that have been season ticket holders for a long time that do act their age, should they have to give up their seats by the rail because the team has to put precautions in place to protect the players and coaches from fans that try to make themselves feel important by yelling at a big shot?

There are a whole lot of what if's in this thread. A good sign that what's being said is blowing things way out of proportion and people are arguing just to argue. I think I'll let you all enjoy that. Oh, and Merry Christmas.

no, i say if they play like shit, they should hear about it from the fans. i never said anything about moving anything, or reserving seats, or in anyway effecting other fans. thats a reeruned idea. i'm not surprised you came up with it to tell you the truth. no, i would also want my HEAD COACH to have the composure to ignore it. also, if he lied about it, thats bullshit. i don't know if you really are a liar, i'm sorry lawyer, but it sure would make a lot of since with your twisted logic.

I'm not going to read through this whole thread, and I have no idea what is going on with George and why he has taken a hiatus.

I do know, however, that there isn't any reason to doubt his word on this, and anyone that does question his credibility can go straight to hell.
