A team hasn't gone undefeated since 1976. There's probably a reason why, and we saw that 24 hours ago. The season isn't over.

If KU wins the championship this year, I'm putting Laz's quote in my sig for a year.

There's nothing you can tell a group of ~20 year old kids that will have them motivated to play their best game of the season every game (taking into account they're supposed to get better every game, in theory). There's nothing you can fix... the goals are in March and April, it's f***ing January.

Tennessee had a lot more to prove than Kansas, because shit just got real for that group of kids on NYD. Kansas, OTOH, is heading to Knoxville as the undefeated #1 team in the country, playing something like 4 scholarship players, walk-ons, and some lucky fan from section 122. I kinda see what you mean here too. For that matter I've always kinda felt, that the earlier you get your first loss in the season the better for the long run. It's an early reality check that way so you can starting building on that loss early to get better. If that had happened to perhaps KU in Memphis game for example, then maybe KU is better prepared yesterday against Tennessee. Who knows for sure though. That's only a theory anyway.

Agreed, KU BBall is about the only thing to look forward too this year. So yea I can understand your frustration when they play like they did yesterday. That being said it's only their first loss, which like I said should only benefit them in the long run. They should be able to loosen up and stop playing so tight, especially on the offenseive end. Speaking of the matter they need to do the opposite on the defensive end. They've been too loose and need to shore things up.

What in the hell are some of my KU brethren going to do after loss #2,# 3 or #4 comes around.

Good thing it's not one of those 7 or 8 loss seasons. Mass suicide ?

It's totally unreasonable to expect this team to NOT lose 3 or 4 games. If we go on a 6 game slide, start getting nervous.

But losing to a ranked team on the road is hardly cause for "OMG Bill Self is teh stoopid" remarks. We're gonna lose at least 2 in conference play, if not up to 4.

Big deal. We'll be solid in conference play and in March when it matters.
