The Bears have gone full reerun.

Cutler meeting with offensive coordinator candidates
Posted by Gregg Rosenthal on January 15, 2010 11:15 AM ET

With Pete Carroll involved in G.M. interviews, it's fair to wonder if he's the one voice that matters in Seattle.

A similar dynamic may be playing out in Chicago, but the voice belongs to a player.

Bears G.M. Jerry Angelo confirmed that Jay Cutler is a key part of the interview process as the Bears search for an offensive coordinator.

"We've involved Jay, and we'd like to have him meet with [all] the candidates," Angelo said. "He understands the whole process, and he knows we want him involved. This is not the first time we've involved a player. This isn't new to us."

Cutler flew in town to meet with Ken Zampese and is expected to offer his thoughts on other candidates. Cutler was reportedly disappointed the team couldn't snare his old coach Jeremy Bates.

We've got mixed feelings here. The ability to work with Cutler and play to his strengths is one of the biggest components of the Bears job.

But if Cutler truly has sway in who gets the gig, it sounds like the inmates are running the asylum.

Bullshit. Everytime his team has had a chance to win a game to make the playoffs he's shit the bed. He's only a QB with a big arm.

In a meaningless game sure. What has Cutler ever done to warrant what Chicago gave up for him? Besides leading the league in INT's this year, and forcing Ron Turner into a pass first offense that lead to Matt Forte carrying the ball nearly 50 times less than he did in 2008....

Cutler is a loser. He has never been a winner and IMO he never will be.

I'd rather have Cassel for a second rounder any day over giving up the King's ransom that the Bears did for Cutler.

Too late. They already went full reerun when they traded a high 2nd round pick for Gaines Adams.

I'd like to see Cutler with a team that had a good o-line, WRs and a running game. Then I'd like to see Cassel on the same team and see who did better.

Right the team is so good it had a 3 game lead last year with let me count them...1....2.....thats right 3 games to go and they missed the playoffs. What happened this year? Oh yeah, Kyle "Pro Bowl" Orton had the same result. Cutler must be at fault for it this year too. Right? Just face the fact, Denver played better than they were. Same with us against both Denver and Pittsburgh. We played above our talent level.

Cassel had the greatest offense of all time. He did an above average (at best) job and missed the playoffs. We have seen what he can do with the best. We haven't seen what Cutler can yet. But Cutler has put up similar numbers, if not better (I don't feel like looking up the stats) with far inferior teams. Oh yeah, hes younger too.
