***OFFICIAL Arizona vs New Orleans Game Thread***

Hope I included enough asterisks in the title.

Defense lovers best look away from this game. It won't be pretty.

The Saints would blow the Cowboys off the field if they play like they did today. Dallas still has to get past the Vikings, though.

Dallas has the best defense? Wha.......?

You're talking about a Saints team at that time that was injured to the hilt. Today? Everyone was healthy and they looked like they did earlier in the season. Seems like your fixated on that one game instead of the big picture.

I also laugh at you saying a defense like Minny will keep the Saints from getting in a rhythm. That defense is really overrated.

I'm the biggest Saints bandwagoner on here, but they still don't have Jamaal Brown.

True, They have to get past the Vikings. However, both the Vikings & Cowboys can get great pressure with their front four which allows more players in coverage.

Both teams have strong running attacks that will not allow the Saints to blitz all that much. However, if the Saints want to go to the Super Bowl, they must be able to match up & defeat their oppenents strengths. When you're throwing the ball on every play -- more times than not, you get your ears pinned back.

Uh so? This isn't a new problem.

That didn't keep them from winning 13 straight. And Jared Allen is the biggest no-gamer ever at defensive end so he doesn't bug me. You don't think the Saints will watch tape of that last game and leave a TE or back to chip Ware? More than anything the Saints got away from running the ball after Thomas got banged up. Now that he's back healthy that will in fact matter. If anything I think the Saints would line up and run the ball at Dallas. Either way, as I noted, Dallas' A game won't match the Saints A game. I think the Saints look primed for another run.

None of what you write makes any sense. It's like we watched two different teams all year. A team running the ball doesn't dictate to blitz or not to blitz. Some of the shit written in here boggles my mind. You have some kind of hard on against the Saints don't you?

Guardian, I'll say this to you once -- Learn conversation tips -- it's easier to join in conversations with others.

Best regards,

NOTES: TheThe Cowboys outgained the Saints, 439 yards to 336, holding the Saints 90 yards and nearly 19 points below their averages in those categories. The Saints, who came in converting nearly 48 percent of third downs this season, converted only one of seven.

I've already addressed this. TWICE. It doesn't matter. If Dallas makes it to New Orleans they will be facing a different team for the most part. The Saints were banged up to shit in that game, and barely lost. This is the part you don't seem to understand. Take a reading comprehension class. Like I said, it's obvious you have some kind of hard on against the Saints.

Apparently the Cardinals had what turned out to be the worst defense EVER in the history of the playoffs.

So I think we can lay to rest the notion that Clancy is some unreal bad coordinator, and that he couldn't use "all that talent" there in Zona. I said it last year, Zona has average talent on defense. Last year in the playoffs he had that defense humming. Again, I'm not saying Clancy is the second coming of Buddy Ryan, but it's also apparent that he's not the worst guy out there either. It just so happens we don't have a lot of talent on defense either.

So unless we get Romeo some talent to work with I have a feeling the results will be very similar. And then we'll get to hear bitching that goes something like this...

"I said all along I was against the Romeo hiring"

"That's what we get for switching to the 3-4"

etc etc puke puke puke.

Oh and BTW for Dylan............

Quote:
There's a major difference in the defense the Saints played in the final eight games of the regular season than in the first half of 2009. With the exception of defensive end Charles Grant, it's the healthiest the Saints defense has been since midway through the season.

The secondary that was maybe the most turnover-happy bunch in the league was back in tact for the first time since Week 10 with Harper, Darren Sharper, Jabari Greer and Tracy Porter completely healthy -- and the difference was staggering.

Washington's Jason Campbell torched the Saints in Week 13 for 367 yards and three touchdowns. The Saints couldn't get any pressure on the erratic passer and he picked apart the secondary. Who were the Saints' corners that game? Malcolm Jenkins and Chris McAlister.

On Saturday, Arizona's Kurt Warner was a non-factor at best as he only threw for 205 yards with no touchdowns and an interception. With Greer and Porter back healthy, the Saints didn't need to give more support on the back end, and in turn, were able to put more pressure on Warner and take his rhythm away.
That's why I asked you why you kept talking about the Saints that played Dallas. Because that defense was really good all year until the injuries mounted.
