The Arizona Republic reports that the Cardinals will not apply the franchise tag to LB Karlos Dansby for the third consecutive year.

The Cardinals will let Dansby hit the open market while "monitoring" the situation. Realistically, his Arizona days are over. As one of the premier names in an ultra-shallow unrestricted free agent market, Dansby is a lock to land a mega-contract. The Pro-Bowl caliber linebacker is seeking $30M in guarantees, with the Giants, Dolphins, Redskins, and Chargers tops on his list of potential landing spots. Feb. 19 - 7:56 am et

I do find it quite hilarious people don't want to draft a LB in the first round, but then they want to waste even more money on the ILB position that we already have DJ and Williams at. Talk about reeruned.

I would rather focus on the ILB position where we just have Mays and Belcher.

I want a linebacker too but I would rather not take one at 5
I'm not saying a d-lineman either
I think some sort of playmaker would be great
I would be pretty happy with berry

I'd be cool with keeping DJ, overpaying for Dansby and drafting an elite talent like Eric Berry.

what is this stuff? I take it was a typo in the first message. But DJ and Demerrio Williams are not good quality starters!!!

We need help at all LB positions. DJ still shows nothing more than flashes. D Williams is lower level talent. Mays and Belcher. That is a list of backup/special team players. We need all new starting caliber LBs in a bad way.
