The GDP of individual states compared to whole countries

Kinda ridiculous.

There's a link here that shows the exact numbers of each state.

I've checked around to see if there's controversy over this map-- if it's remotely accurate in the least. I guess there's this other one that is claimed to be more accurate, but I can't find the numbers on it.

Fascinating, Professor. you know what the problem is for some of these states? mine in particular? they raised the state sales tax to 7% a few years back in an attempt to make NJ not broke anymore. amazing how states like FLA and TX survive without state taxes

The local government benefits and pensions are insane. insane I tell you! some people can retire at 40 years old and get 80% of their salary at the time of retirement for the rest of their life..and...health benefits for forever too. I have o idea why NJ is so broke..lol..Christie is gonna take care of that shit now

OK, vent over. why did you post this in the lounge, professor?

It's not incredibly political, is it? It seems like something Rain Man would post as a food-for-thought kind of thing.

Bottom line: The US has taken a hit while China and India are gaining, but damn. We are STILL way ass far ahead. Waaaaay far ahead.
