So clearly he's 30 years old and has no value.

Lord, the 'value' of draft picks has become so overstated as to be absurd. The guy is 26 years old and put up an absolutely elite season his 2rd year in the league (breakout year for WRs). Last year he was on a similar pace until his injury.

Granted, you can't discount the injury altogether, but I'm betting they have a doctor or two on staff. Have him looked at to determine if he's sound. If so, the odds of us doing anything with that pick that would be as useful as Steve Smith are pretty damn remote (even if you actually have faith that Pioli isn't going to draft another midget scat-back or glorified punt returner).

Unless the Cardinals come offering Larry Fitzgerald for a viable price, I'd absolutely give a 2nd for Smith.

I'd give our third for Smith. A second for a guy coming off of a procedure like microfracture, which is really a two year injury, and the most serious injury a skill position player could have that isn't related to their spinal column, is not something that should be underestimated.

I would give our mid/late 2nd for him if healthy, but not off this procedure. That moves down to 3rd in negotiations. Would the Gints take that, probably not, but that's what we'd have to stick with, imo.

Do take a close look at his game tho, this procedure is not as damaging to his value given his forte - short routes in the middle of the field. Having a consistent guy like that would do wonders for Cassel, and Bowe, and would keep things open a bit more for Mo too.

KC should give him a physical the next few weeks. It would be a draft day decision for me depending on who was still available, and the status of his injury.

He's a better value than Arenas and McCluster.
