The throw aways stand out in my mind as well. That is something that has to change IMO if we are to take that next step. If we automatically go to 2nd and 10 against the defenses we are going to face this season it could be a long year. And I understand 2nd and 10 is better than 2nd and 17, but a 4th year starter at QB shouldn't panic at the first sign of danger, and be instructed to get rid of it as he was this past year.

PhilFree
Total accident.

He will be added later in the evening, when I start fleshing out my fourth round.

I have him graded out as second round talent. He SHOULD have been #44 on this board.

Denver isn't going to sign him and since the Chiefs have a lot of cap room, they should be able to afford him even if the bidding gets a little high. He's only 26 as well.

Take that third rounder and get the NT or WR that this team needs.

Something like:

1. Derek Sherrod, OT; Miss State
2. Rod Hudson, C/G; Florida State
3. Jerrell Powe, NT; Ole Miss
4. Austin Pettis, WR; Boise State
5. Jermey Beal, LB; Oklahoma
5. Vincent Brown, WR; San Diego
6. Tom Keiser, OLB; Stanford
7. Robert Hughes, FB/RB; Notre Dame

while I personally think Albert is low on our list of problems, and there is 0 chance they draft OL back to back, much less start both, that's a good draft (taking your word for it on Hudson)...throw in a FA WR (which we need badly) and we've accomplished a lot

Bullshit. The line is ****ing atrocious. It is you that has your head buried in the sand if you think it's decent. They had a near ideal set of circumstances in their schedule this past season which helped "elevate" the play of the line where they played against some of the NFL's worst pass rush defenses and worst run defenses. It played right into the hands of the team as it was structured offensively.

However, when matched up against teams that actually produced a pass rush, they got hammered. And unless they work to drastically upgrade the performance of the line, they will be absolutely slaughtered in 2011 if they decided to play out the season. NFC North, Indy, Steelers, etc. It's a worst nightmare situation for this offensive line as it stands now. That's a fact.

However, with two draft pics and a key free agent signing, this could be a very good offensive line.

Corresponding strictly with my board, our picks would be:

21. OT Derek Sherrod, Mississippi State
55. ILB Martez Wilson, Illinois
86. DE Parnell McPhee, Mississippi State
118. SS Joe Lefeged, Rutgers

You heard it here first, folks. We're replacing DJ and Berry, moving Albert to G, and switching back to the 4-3.

Your obsession with the position is quite frightening. The Vermeil Chiefs had to have given you a perma woody.

Did you inform Romeo and Haley?
I think the 3-4 stays until Romeo retires at least.
