Foxsports.com Schrager's Mock Draft

http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/m...-newton-041811

Quote:

21. Kansas City Chiefs (10-6), Aldon Smith, DE/OLB, Missouri: The Chiefs stay local, grabbing one of the first round’s biggest wildcard selections in Smith. As a redshirt freshman at Mizzou in 2009, the 6-5 talented pass rusher recorded 11.5 sacks during his first year of college football. He recorded another 4.5 sacks before shattering his leg last season. Healthy now, the Chiefs could use Smith in a variety of ways, either as a pass-rushing OLB or as a DE in their 3-4 scheme.

55. Kansas City Chiefs: Jon Baldwin, WR, Pittsburgh
86. Kansas City Chiefs: Clint Boling, OG, Georgia

I'll be ****ing ecstatic.
it's not a "Pioli" type draft but it would have tremendous upside.

No. Dareus isn't half the player Peterson or Miller are, IMO. Skipping over premier talent to draft for need is not the way to improve.

I understand your point of view and agree that Peterson and Miller have enormous upside. But I also think defensive lineman are much more valuable to a team than a corner or a SAM linebacker would be. I don't see Denver having an opportunity any time soon of getting a young DT with as much talent as Dareus and Fairley have. Plus DT is a gigantic need for this team.

I guess your a BPA guy and I'm a BPA at a position of need guy. We have a good group of corners and Miller, while I think he can play the SAM, would be better utilized as a rush-backer in a 3-4.

Dareus and Fairley just aren't at the level of Suh or McCoy from last year, while there is a lot of DL talent that will be available later in the draft, which could easily end up as good our better than them. I wouyld rather address needs in FA, and I really don't want to end up with just an above average player with the #2 pick.

You could get somebody like Peterson in the 1st and grab a Marvin Austin or Stephen Paea in the 2nd round. Shit....you could probably grab both since you have two picks in that round.

Do not want, especially in the first round. The guy would be a project at best as a 3-4 OLB, especially on the left side where he'll be asked to play a lot of zone pass coverage.

Heck, the fifth round and on is going to be loaded with guys just like Smith:

Ugo Chinasa, DE; Oklahoma State
K.J. Wright, OLB; Mississippi State
Tom Keiser, OLB; Stanford

And a guy like Mark Herzlich, who has some of the best instincts I've ever seen from a true Sam linebacker at the college level. I sure as hell would take a flyer on Herzlich in the fifth versus burning a first rounder on Smith.

Jon Baldwin in the second would be absolutely fantastic.
WTF kind of garbage is this. What a joke.

That's even ignoring the fail in the opening of this post.
