How would you like Pat Williams at NT?

http://www.arrowheadpride.com/2011/7...ime-on-tuesday

Quote:
2) While driving to the hospital I was listening to an interview with Pat Williams on Sirius NFL Radio. Pat Williams is part of the Williams wall for the Vikings defensive line. His contract is up in Minnesota and they were asking him if he plans on retiring. He said that he thinks he has 1 or 2 more years left in him, but that he wants to play for a winner. He mentioned that he doesn't want to stay in Minnesota if they are going to go with a rookie QB this season. Pat Williams plays most of his snaps as a zero technique in Minnesota (Nose Tackle).

When asked directly where he might like to go if he parts with Minnesota he mentioned 3 teams; but the FIRST team he mentioned was Kansas City. He said KC needed a run stuffer in the middle and he could fill that role.

If we fill out our roster, and plug the big holes, we could very well be going DEEP into the playoffs.
It doesn't hurt that there's 2 really $#itty teams in the division that don't look to be playoff competitive any time soon...

Denver rookie QB John Elway, on Jack Lambert, after Lambert and the Steelers knocked Elway out of his first game as a pro (1983).

Unfortunately the Raiders are a better team than the Chiefs.

No, the Raiders have (much) more talent than the Chiefs.

They change coaches every 2 years, have no one even close to resembling a QB, and only manage to play half-assed-respectable in division games.

They might be if they didn't change coaching staffs every 3 months.

FIVE VETERANS WITH SOMETHING LEFT IN THE TANK

Pat Williams took a step backwards at 37 last season, but it was from very lofty heights; Minnesota still ranked eighth against the run by DVOA, and Williams still contributed seven tackles for a loss or no gain. Some smart team is going to bring him in and spot his snaps effectively, and they'll get a great run-stuffing tackle as a result.

Also from that link

FIVE BANDWAGONS TO JUMP OFF

Shaun Smith is the Vinnie Jones of (American) football, just without the comedic turns in Guy Ritchie movies. First, it was getting into a fistfight with Brady Quinn when they were both on the Browns. Last year, he was accused of junk-grabbery by two different offensive linemen in consecutive weeks. Around the league, he's regarded as one of the game's biggest shit-talkers, which says a lot in a league full of shit-talkers. He's already received one steroid suspension. This all wouldn't be a problem if he was any good, but Smith's just a big body without any history of production. At least Jones won an FA Cup

Reasonably healthy & properly motivated, Pat could be Ted Washington 2.0 for us.

Let him eat space on run downs for 2 years while Powe learns the ropes, he'll be cheaper than Aubrayo Franklin as well.

He should be cheaper, he's only going to play 12 games at most.

I'd be ok with 12 games, as long as they're strong ones. He'd help take a ton of pressure off our younger guys & give them a real pro to learn from.

Let Powe play against poor running teams, or teams with weak interior lines?
