Ticketmaster loses class-action lawsuit
**** these guys. Ticketmaster is a racket.
Of course, the lawyers are the real winners here. $1.50 a ticket is just stupid. Quote:

I refuse to buy a ticket through Ticketmaster. If I can't get the ticket from the venue I don't go. I may miss out on some great shows or events but I flat out refuse to do business with Tickemaster.

LOL, you have to buy more to get made whole again... I'd say ticket master is the winner here!! From their side, it's jsut a slightly smaller profit on a few future ticket sales... They're whores!

Wonder if the lawyers are going to be "paid" with vouchers.

Got the email tonight. What a bunch of bullshit.
If you take no action, and the settlement is approved by the Court, you will automatically receive, via email at the most recent email address associated with your purchases on Ticketmaster.com, discount codes ("Codes") which can be used for future purchases for U.S. events from Ticketmaster's Website (except for events at venues owned or operated by AEG as set forth in the Settlement Agreement). For each transaction that you made during the Class Period, you will receive one code via email for a $1.50 discount, up to a maximum of 17 codes. This does not include the additional benefits, for the UPS Subclass members, which are described below. The Codes may be combined up to a maximum of two credits ($3.00) that may be applied on future transactions as described above. The Codes are non-transferable, expire 48 months from distribution, and may be redeemed only for purchases made using the email address to which they were sent (or an updated address provided to the Claims Administrator or Ticketmaster and verified as belonging to the Class Member). TL;DR - They won't be sending checks to anyone, you get codes for $1.50 off a future purchase, using a maximum of 2 per purchase ($3 off) and the codes expire within 48 months. Also you have to use the same email. |

This means the codes won't work for events at Sprint Center or Midland Theater since they're both AEG owned and operated. What a bunch of BS.

I agree with all of this BUT what you need to understand is that part of the concept here is that the THREAT of class action lawsuits, which can easily result in multi-million dollar damage awards (including those heinous attorneys fees) are specifically designed to deter bad conduct by corporations. And bringing class action suits isn't easy, and the risks are high very. But yes, successful class action attorneys are definitely "one percenters". I understand that. And I understand that everyone loves to hate attorneys, so go for it.
