A modest proposal (chiefs poll)

Well, not really. The idea is this... would you be ok, as a chiefs fan, with the following situation?

1) Chiefs sign peyton manning (or trade for an older franchise QB... ignore the details, they aren't important) and somehow win the super bowl this next season

2) the next season, said franchise QB has an injury and/or retires, otherwise leaving us QB-less

3) in the afterglow of the super bowl, the chiefs follow up with seasons like...

2013: 7-9
2014: 4-12
2015: 8-8 (not in playoffs)
2016: 6-10
2017: 3-13 (not drafting a franchise qb; we tend to ignore them around here)
2018: 2-14 (nope, no franchise QB)
2019: 5-11 (vet backup, traded for from another team, improves us 150%!)
2020: 9-7 (we build a team with a good defense, but we have no offense)
2021: 7-9 (injuries mount up)
2022: 6-10 (OH NO, WE SUCK AGAIN)

in other words, no playoffs for ten years, more retreads at QB, utter complete shit from our chiefs (should be used to it)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

so, would you be satisfied with a super bowl win followed by ten years of our typical shit?

Is this a serious question? For a SB I'd take a lot of years of suck.

Honestly, we're probably going to get that regardless. Might as well get a SB.

It kind of looks like the 70s and 80s after our last SB win. That wasn't much fun, but that was prior to free agency.
