Raspberry Pi...

Heard about this? Huge potential in this tiny little device. I can see this really changing the future of media consumption and availability to the masses. It's essentially a $35 mini computer that can also serve as a home theater system.

http://www.raspberrypi.org/

What’s a Raspberry Pi?

The Raspberry Pi is a credit-card sized computer that plugs into your TV and a keyboard. It’s a capable little PC which can be used for many of the things that your desktop PC does, like spreadsheets, word-processing and games. It also plays high-definition video. We want to see it being used by kids all over the world to learn programming.

How much will it cost?

The Model A will cost $25 and the Model B $35, plus local taxes.

How powerful is it?

The GPU provides Open GL ES 2.0, hardware-accelerated OpenVG, and 1080p30 H.264 high-profile decode.

The GPU is capable of 1Gpixel/s, 1.5Gtexel/s or 24 GFLOPs of general purpose compute and features a bunch of texture filtering and DMA infrastructure.

That is, graphics capabilities are roughly equivalent to Xbox 1 level of performance. Overall real world performance is something like a 300MHz Pentium 2, only with much, much swankier graphics.

More info in their FAQ here: http://www.raspberrypi.org/faqs

On your computer, do you know if there are any updates available for your audio chip? It's probably onboard. Take a look in Device Manager under Audio. You should be able to check Windows for a Windows driver update if available.
I haven't made any changes to the audio in XBMC. I found the Realtek High Definition Audio in device manager, right clicked, searched the internet for updated drivers and it came back and said the driver was up to date. The version is 6.0.1.5923.

There may be some updated drivers at the below link though

Click accept and click next and it has a list of a few, think I could try one?

Yes, I would. Also, in XBMC go to System\Audio, and see if changing any settings in there will make a difference.

Also, someone suggested this from the xbmc.org forum...

The error is:

Code:
21:58:03 T:3292 ERROR: CThread::staticThread : Access violation at 0x049225a1: Reading location 0x00000004
21:58:03 T:3292 NOTICE: thread end: video_thread

I don't use the add-on but I tried putting the stream in an strm file and that worked. If you want to try it create a file called test.strm (or any name you want ending in ".strm") containing:

Code:
rtmp://176.31.231.57/edge playpath=y3r6msrcl1vs3fj swfurl=http://static.ilive.to/jwplayer/player.swf pageurl=http://www.ilive.to/view/23699/History live=1 timeout=30

Put the file in any convenient video folder and you'll be able to play it just like any video. When I try this here, with RC2, it plays fine, however I use an NVIDIA GPU. You might try disabling hardware acceleration as the Intel GPUs can give problems with acceleration.

Fish, I think we have exceeded my technical ability on this one. I might look into getting an Apple tv and trying that route.

Alrighty.

You can also try SuperTV, which does the same thing but it's considered a Program instead of a Video Add-on. It would show up under the Programs list. There's also LiveStreams. And LiveTV. Any of those 3 will have most of the same channels.
