KU basketball next year

Who's stayin? Who's gone? Who is the next up and coming star? What should we expect our team to be like next season and beyond?

I'm not looking past the title game, but I was just looking at the roster and was wondering what it will look like next year with Robinson and Taylor gone.

This game looks so lop-sided on paper, that it may be worth cracking the record books to refresh everyone on the scoring margin record for a national championship game. (though I think our defense will prevent the final score from looking silly)

We're not supposed to be here. Hell, given December, we weren't supposed to be in the regional finals either, its easier to take things in stride when there's really nothing to lose, pride-wise. KU won the jackpot, cashed out most of the black $100 casino chips they won to go home with, and are now playing with some house money until they bust.
Thomas Robinson don't care, he'll just do whatever he wants.

I hope you're not showing up for the pregame pep talk.

I guess they could watch Missouri and Norfolk State or Miracle on Ice or the NYG beating the 18-0 Patriots or that one time Louisville lost by 8 to the greatest college basketball team ever assembled after shooting 34% and committing approximately 4000 unforced errors.

I have no expectations of Kansas winning and I understand what you're saying, but I might actually be more surprised if they lose by 15+ than if they actually win.

Uh, no. They're not facing LeBron James and the Miami Heat here. They're facing a bunch of young, inexperienced college kids like themselves on a neutral court (albeit highly athletic and talented ones). If KU was to face this team 10 times in a row in a game like this, they'd probably win three or four times. I don't know that I'd bet on them to win tomorrow, but that's hardly the kind of odds to start writing anybody off.

In fact, despite UK's superiority in his rankings, KenPom only ranks them as a 3 point favorite (which is really nothing at all in basketball, it's a single possession). OSU was the same 3 point favorite last night.

And I shouldn't have to remind anybody that Louisville, a far worse team than Kansas offensively (and basically equivalent defensively), just played a competitive game with Kentucky down to the final few minutes.

Also, this Kentucky team is not better than the 2008 Memphis team. There is way more talent overall, but the effort and defense overall just isn't there like it was for that team. They rely on Anthony Davis to bail them out all too often and they can be beaten because of that.

2012 Kentucky: .9668 Pyth, 123.1 AdjO, 88.6 AdjD
2008 Memphis: .9776 Pyth, 121.3 AdjO, 83.9 AdjD

2012 Kansas: .9504 Pyth, 114.8 AdjO, 86.1 AdjD
2008 Kansas: .9859 Pyth, 125.3 AdjO, 82.8 AdjD

Wasn't my opinion. Coach Self disagrees with you.
