History of Chiefs Starting QBs

Here's the laundry list of all the players who have started a game at QB for the Chiefs.

List includes only on true HOF guy who spent his prime with the Chiefs (Dawson), two other eventual HOF guys who spent their prime with other teams (Montana and Moon) a shitload of journeymen (DeBerg, Green, Bono, Grbac, etc.) and a bunch of stiffs (Fuller, Thigpen, Palko).

Just reading it kind of pisses me off. Has any other team been worse at QB since 1975? Maybe Cleveland or Detroit. That's all I can think of.

() shows number of games started during the season, season went to 16 games in 1978:

The only reason he threw for 4,000 yards was, that was the season where Joe Delaney drowned right before training camp opened. Chiefs had ZERO running game, so they threw the ball 50 times a game. His yards were garbage yards. And when he made "All-Pro" that season, he was a third or fourth alternate, because other guys who deserved to go begged out with injuries or whatever. He was an all pro the same way Cassel was...just because nobody else volunteered to go play in Hawaii.

I think he started the Rams vs. Chiefs the year before Trent came to KC. I went to that game, because Trent was still with the Rams and actually played. Chiefs won, I believe.

The game you are thinking of is when we knocked Warner out and we beat them in a shootout. I thought it was Grbac who played well that game?

No, the one game Moon started was the one Siberian was talking about. Grbac sat out a week with a 'bruised pinkie" because he was a pussy. Moon started, played like total shit, and that was the only game San Diego won all year.

You're right. I just looked it up. Moon actually did come in during the 4th. I don't remember if it was because Grbac got hurt or what:

We think their level of suckage is pretty much even. That's why it's so hard for me to watch The Duke of Dink. I lived through nine years of that crap with Ms. Kenney.

Imagine where we'd be if we'd made Tyler Thigpen our permanent starter.
