Electronics DirecTV Genie Question....Please Help - Page 2

I have been told by several different employess at DirecTV that, YES, the Genie can be wirelss, and, NO, the Genie cannot be wireless.

We currently have an HR-22 HD Receiver in our front room, and a standard receiver in the basement. So, I know I would have to update the one in the living room.

But could the C31(?) devices be hooked to televisions in other rooms on our home network, or do I need hard wiring to each TV.

I am sorry if this sounds like a stupid question, but DirecTV customer service was no help, and I have not been feeling well enough to look into it further on my own, Any help is greatly appreciated.

We really want whole home DVR service without switching to U-Verse, or having a hack come to our house and making a bunch of crappy wiring to each location.

I've had nothing but good experiences in the 3 years I've had it. After my 2 year contract was up I called to "cancel." I wasn't really going to, but they gave me the Genie and free Sunday Ticket!

My buddy though who just got it hasn't had a pleasant experience though. His dish is on the top of his 2 story house and it gets clogged with snow and he can't watch anything. I've never had this problem (it never goes out during snow), but can definitely see why some people dislike the service.

direct tv has been awesome to me since 1998, the only thing they have been a bitch about is upgrading to the Genie, they want to charge and arm and a leg for the upgrade, but if your a new customer its free? ****, i beeen a 15 year loyal customer and 15 years of sunday ticket and they cant hook me up a ****ing genie?

I think im just gonna cancel and have my sister call from here n put it in her name so i can get the "free genie" ****ers. lol I try to be cool, but they are going to make me abuse the system.

I have been a customer since 2005 and I just got the genie for free but I have to pay for the installation for $49.95 which I don't mind plus a couple of other discounts. Just got it installed today.

My setup is wireless. No problems. Never had a problem with customer service. Even at 4am.

I have six HD DVR's, Whole Home and Direct TV cinema and it works flawlessly.

I've had Direct TV for 11 years and would never even consider another service.

I got the Genie last week, and love it. I've never had a problem with directv. They always cut deals on Sunday Ticket etc. I only got it because cable wasn't available where I live, but I would never go back to cable even if I had the choice.

i just said i been a loyal customer for 15 years and she goes. let me see what we can do for you. She goes, ooh your up for an upgrade, its free. Just pay the installation fee which is 49 bucks and we are off.
