The original was on cable a couple of weeks ago. What a trip back to my childhood that was!

I actually had this on the old book and record format, where you put the record on your record player and flipped through the book while the record read the book to you. Tinkerbell sound meant to turn the page...

Is this going to have the music like in the animated version?
By the way, Siouxsie and the Banshees do a great cover of the snake's song, "Trust In Me". Also, the "Solid gone" lyric in The Cure's "Lovecats" is a nod to "I Wan'na Be Like You (The Monkey Song)". Apparently, as the story goes, when Robert Smith was playing guitar for Siouxsie and the Banshees, they would watch "The Jungle Book" over and over while on the tour bus. |

I wonder if this version will finally solve the mystery of where Mowgli got the "turban shorts" from...
heh. I'm intrigued by this. But the original was easily one of my favorites. My grandson likes to watch it all the time too...

Kaa, the snake, is not a bad guy in the actual stories. He is actually one of Mowgli's mentors.

Disney struggled in the mid 80s with their animated movies. Came back strong though at the end of the decade.
