Cal Davis Webb enters Round 1 conversation

Good read on the kid. I'm starting to like him more and more every day. Still think this is the QB Andy wants. |

Some of the best players in pro-sports have two first names, i.e Jamaal Charles. Michael Jordan.
Davis Webb has two last names....RED FLAG.

One thing I don't think we've really looked at with the Chiefs. They don't currently have a backup QB. I don't think they're serious about Bray, maybe they are, we'll find out.
Anyway, they need a QB that can atleast be a backup right away. Webb seems to be the best bet to do that at where they'll be picking. |

Webb has sort of an awkward, dorky, lankiness about him that's typical of guys like Brady, Ryan, Flacco, Aikman, Eli Manning, etc. Looks like Rocky Balboa after three or four rounds. Not sure what that means (if it even means anything at all) other than some extremely odd observation that might indicate a bright future in the NFL.

Webb is a bit of a conundrum. He could go as early as late in the first round (based on what he’s been told, anyway) or could end up dropping into the third round or later based on what guys like Mike Mayock are saying about him. We’re leaning towards the latter.
Webb has arm talent, of that there is no doubt. He made some tremendous throws during his last season at Cal and has prototypical NFL size to boot. Unfortunately, he’s nowhere near ready to play at the NFL level, having just come out of the Air Raid system Sonny Dykes ran. While it’s pretty much the same system that Patrick Mahomes II — a guy who’s almost certain to be a Round 1 pick — ran at Texas Tech, Webb’s overall talent level is far inferior to what Mahomes brings to the table. Furthermore, there is so much talent at other positions that teams in the first round or two will be more eager to land a guy who can help them immediately than draft a project quarterback who needs a few years to season before he can contribute. http://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/nfl/...UE13DHP#page=4 |
