Time to not care about this season anymore. It’s over.
Because it's over and why not have the joy of no more Smith.

Eventually you have to stop blaming everyone else and really ask what is the central theme.
You could have a Hall of Famer at every position on offense surrounding Smith and then it would just be the playcalling. Or the wind.

Oh my, the meltdown of this site over this is gonna be fun to read.

Pretty close to what I've been saying although I do think Alex has regressed the last 5 games.

But I do think his regression and Hunts are tied together and the common factor is the Oline. Anyone who doesn't see that is just not looking at the big picture of this O.

Fulton is pure garbage and the overall line play is just abysmal. We cannot get a push on running plays - for god sakes we averaged like a yard a stinking carry yesterday. And pass pro is just as bad. Yes Alex has gotten happy feet but and has started to miss open wr's but its directly related to the pressure that comes as soon as he hits his back foot in his drop.

Andy needs to fix the oline ASAP or nothing is going to chance and that would be the case with Patrick in there as well.

Riddle me this, is the Texans Offensive line on par with ours? O-lines look bad when your QB hesitates and doesn't know how to step up into the pocket.

Look at Brady, do you think the offensive line is good or he knows how to work a pocket?

No, this confirms what many on cp have been saying for a while. Peel away the gimmicks, a good points defense, and a defense that gets you several gifted field possessions through turnover. And take away Alexs running ability. And this is what you get. If your qb needs 5 seconds of time to hit a receiver who's open by a country mile, he's not the guy to lead your offense. I'm glad for Alex smith's time here and wish him well. But people have to stop making his limitations.

Every star has to be perfectly aligned for Alex Smith to be successful. He’s a rich man’s Matt Cassel. If the line blocks well, if we have a decent running game, if our receivers run perfect routes, if the weather isn’t too cold...if all this, Alex Smith is a good quarterback. You take one of these things out of the equation and he’s just not very good.

I’ve been saying it for years...is it easier to find 10 guys that make one guy better? Or to find 1 guy to make the other 10 better? We all know what the “Chiefs way” is. It worked a little with Trent Green and Joe Montana. But the reality is that, come playoff time, there is going to be one game where you need your QB to make a big time throw. You’ll need him to spin a few into a tight window at a crucial moment. Alex Smith has never shown to be that guy. And right now, as the rest of the team is playing like a pile of wet ass, it would be nice to have that guy who could win one or two on his own.

I get tired of the excuses when certain aspects of the team aren’t playing well and I have to listen to Reid wax moronic about how everyone has a job and we all need to do better and blah blah blah in defense of horrible QB play. Yes, if everyone is doing their job to perfection, the team should theoretically roll. But I get tired of Alex Smith being afforded the luxury of hiding behind the guise of “everyone has to do better.” It is disingenuous.
