Great interview but Chris Simms really needs to fire his wardrobe guy. He looks like a cross between a evangelist and a pervert.

Damn, I just fell in love all over again.

For all of us about 45-50+, the pain, agony and false hopes from 1970 until drafting Mahomes has led us to this point.

We got close with Alex but knew his limitations, especially after the Colts epic comeback against us in that 2014 playoff game. That moment told me we would NEVER get back to the Super Bowl unless we drafted a superstar QB like Elway or Aikman or Favre or Brady.

Then SHAZAM, 2017 draft arrives and I will NEVER forget that moment when they announced: "There is a trade in. The Buffalo Bills have traded the 10th pick in the 2017 draft to the Kansas City Chiefs."

At that moment, our lives as fans changed for the better.

I went ballistic and called everyone saying, "This is it, we are finally drafting our QBOTF. Mahomes is going to be a Chief."

Quite a few thought it would be Watson but I knew better.

I had gotten to the point by the playoff losses to the Steelers in 2016 and Titans in 2017 that if the Chiefs were going to insist on playing nice guy check down artists at QB, I was going to cool my fandom for my own mental well being. Then Mahomes happened. And I'm 10 times more rabid and fanatical as I was as a teenager for the Derrick Thomas/Schottenheimer 90's Chiefs.

I saw Lenny the cool win a SB. The 80’s were painful. Then I actually started making enough money to buy season tickets when Montana came to KC. Tony G/Priest/Green/ era was fun. We had so so many heartbreaking losses.

I think we are enjoying this era, not just for the SB wins, finally after 50 years but we all on here have paid our fan dues. We have earned this as fans.

Under Marty and Carl became: SB or bust...post season pretty much guaranteed.
Then: we will make the post season
Then: will we make the post season
Then: will we have a winning record
Then: Suck For Luck
Then: Flying banners and wearing black
Then: Bam...Mahomes and we are back to SB or bust
