Officials search for clues after grisly discovery

Officials with the Harris County Medical Examiner's Office are scouring a wooded area in southeast Houston today searching for any evidence that might help them identify the skeletal remains found by three children riding their bikes there Sunday afternoon.

The children stumbled upon the body about 2:30 p.m. on the 10300 block of Teneha, near Sims Bayou Park off Martin Luther King Boulevard.

The body's gender and cause of death are unknown pending an autopsy, police said.

Houston Police Department homicide detectives are investigating.

Anyone with any information is urged to call the HPD homicide division at 713-308-3600 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
