So.....will CP get Miami's 4th Round Pick for Green?

I'm thinking "yes" at the moment....

I mean, Beck needs time to sit on the bench; a year or two of watching Green is just the ticket, IMO. He could be a good QB.

However, if Miami refuses to budge....I honestly, say, screw it; keep Green as long as we can....depending on cap considerations, if we got the money....keep Green as an insurance policy....it's not as if he hasn't earned that money, IMO, anyway.

Plus, THEN we still screw the Dolphins.

So, what will happen???

I would assume so. I don't think there's any way we let him go for a 6.

Hold on to him. Some QB on a conteder will be injured in training camp or the first couple weeks of the season. We'd get at least a 3rd or a 4th in next year's draft for him then. Assuming we can handle his cap number.

Honestly....if they don't give us a 4th for him; I say Green comes to camp with us....and competes for the job (assuming there is cap room). The guy has earned his money. He could surprise us, win the job...and give Croyle another year to get ready.

With the increased cap, this would seem to be a good year for it...

Yup. Fugg Miami.

Let 'em start the season with a rookie QB or Cleo Lemmon.

We get a 5th for Hall.

Trent holding a clipboard is worth more than a 6th.

Then the ONLY way Green goes short of a 4th round pick....is a 2nd or 3rd NEXT year.

It was a 5th for Hall. But yeah, your point stands.

Green winning the job wouldn't be a surprise to anyone, IMO. He's still the best QB on our roster.

It's just that it's time to move in a different direction. I'd think Trent would understand that. I hope he does, anyway. He's one of my favorites. The guy was a good soldier, and a great QB. Gave us plenty of good memories.

I think the chances are pretty good for the 4th round pick. If Miami refuses to give it up I hope we hold on to him. cdcox makes and interesting point on trading him during camp or early on. At worst we see what he has left during camp and possible give Croyle some more time to develop before being thrown into the fire.

I think it happens tomorrow and the compensation includes a '07 sixth and a conditional pick in '08.
