Cocktail Hour - Your favorite "boozy" recipes

Cosmicpal’s boozy brownie recipe.

¾ cup flour
½ tsp. baking soda
½ tsp. salt
½ cup sugar
1/3 shortening
2 tbs water
2 eggs
1 (6 oz) pkg semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 tsp vanilla
½ cup of whiskey (Sailor Jerry works well with this)

Chocolate Topping:

½ heavy cream
1 pkg (6oz) semi-sweet chocolate chips

Directions:

Preheat the over to 350 and grease a 9-inch pan

Sift together the flour, baking soda and salt in a bowl- set aside

In a saucepan- combine sugar, shortening and water. Cook on low heat until boiling gently. Stir in chocolate chips and vanilla. Then beat in the eggs, one at a time.

Now add the flour mixture and stir well. (If you want to add nuts, you can do so now)

Pour mixture into baking pan and bake for 30 mins

After the brownies have cooled- pour the whiskey on top and let it soak into the brownies.

Make the topping as follows:

Heat the cream in the microwave for 45 seconds and pour on top of chocolate chips and stir. If that doesn’t melt the chips enough, put the mixture into the microwave for 10 seconds at a time, until smooth. Spread over the top of your boozy brownies.

Eat. Enjoy.
