How did you end up a CHIEFS fan?

Just curious.

The first NFL game I ever watched was Superbowl XXIV, when the 49ers dismantled, humiliated, embarassed, annihilated, decimated the 55-10. It was a SB party at my uncles house. I instantly became a Joe Montana fan. I thought he was awesome (to this day I still think he's the GOAT) so I followed him. After that Superbowl I had my parents buy me books and shirts of him. Since he retired with KC, I stuck with them ever since and never looked back. And never will. EVER. They can keep breaking my heart every year but that's where this team stays, in my heart. Corny I know but its the truth.

My Dad and older brother.

Why couldn't they be Steelers fans.

My mom, who grew up in Kentucky and met my dad while she worked as a nanny in San Antonio, convinced Disco Dad to buy season tickets. I probably went to my first game around 2 or 3 years old.

Parents split but dad and I have been going regularly since 96ish. Haven't missed a regular or postseason game since I skipped the Jags game in 07 to go to a mandatory frat retreat.

Every super bowl my dad would leave to his friends house and leave my brother and I at home. Super bowl was only for the big boys. When we got old enough to go one of buddies came up to me and asked what my favorite team was, I then noticed his Chief hat. I, of course, wanting to fit in said the Chiefs. Ever since then I followed them more and more.

My family moved to the KC area when I was eight, and I lived there until I left for college. We lived in Pittsburgh before that, so I could be excused for being a Steelers fan, but I foolishly opted for the new hometown team.

I grew up in Montana where there are no pro teams. Dad was born and raised in Overland Park, went to K-state and his parents were season tickets holders for the Chiefs. He grew up a Chiefs and Royals fan and I still to this day idolize my father. So naturally I chose the Chiefs/Royals and we talk about them 2-3 times a week. Although these franchises are frustrating as hell, nothing better then sharing that bond with my pops. It means as much to me as it does to him.

Family, friends, community and winning. Tomahawk chop. Chiefs and Chopper. Nigerian Nightmare. Nick Lowery and Steve Deberg. Bill Mass, Deron Cherry. Neil Smith's Brett tribute. Monday Nights full of BBQ and Martyball.

The Chiefs were and always will be pure Kansas City.

Thats cool. I want to go to Arrowhead more than anything man. I want that home crowd experience. I want to sample the legendary Kansas City bbqs at the tailgating parties. And I want it to be against the .

I didn't know the sport of football existed until I moved to Kansas. They were the local team so I followed them.
