Life Kansas City's Best Burger.

Recently, I've had quite a few debates about which Kansas City restaurant has the best hamburger. It's cut and dry for me, but it seems that there are a handful of different spots that typically get the nod.

I'm going to restrict the poll options to local spots, but I'm sure a few chains will be mentioned.

For me, it's Town Topic...with a bullet.

Your thoughts?

I've only eaten at two of those: Westport Flea Market and Blanc. Of the two, I liked WFM better. The burgers themselves were comparable, but the atmosphere of WFM was much better IMO.

I've had a burger at every spot listed except Smoke Burgers.
That's actually the restaurant that opened up my most recent debate about "the best burger joint in town." I hear it's better than Town Topic. I find that hard to believe, but I'll find out this weekend.

I can't believe people consider a grease joint burger as the "best burger in town". If you're 3 times the legal limit at 3AM they're great, but any other time they make you feel like crap and you shit your brains out for the following 3 weeks. Blanc has some great burgers... specifically the bison burger.

That said, I cook my favorite burger in the city. 1/2 lb of 85% lean burger on the grill with swiss cheese on a chiabatta bun. Throw some bacon on that, some pineapple, BBQ sauce and lettuce.

Blanc is very good, but I love the hole-in-the-wall spots too.
Their burgers usually have character you just can't find anywhere else.

Blanc is delicious. Truffle fries FTW.

Town Topic is my drunken spot, though. And that's usually when I want a burger the most.

It's the Bravo at Beer Kitchen for me.

Crispy prosciutto, maytag blue cheese, fontina, sun-dried tomato relish, baby arugula & roasted garlic aioli on brioche bun.

I'm from KC(live in Ozark now) and I loved the burgers at Jimmy's Jigger on 39th and State line. It might not even be there anymore but they were very good.
