Interesting angle. You're right though, a good agent would be battling, because it affects his bottom line as well.
The entire situation just makes me sick.

It's true. An aggressive agent would have tried very hard publicly to force a trade. The fans might end up resenting the player, but it would be better off for his client.

One of the things that makes me the maddest about this situation..........
Johnson, out of the draft knew he was behind Priest...........He got an amicable agent, signed for a very reasonable contract price, quickly, and was in Camp early.................and Vermeil has been treating him like a Brown Peanut Pickle since day 1. |

Iowanian brings up a good point. Peterson and Hunt met Johnson at the Heisman awards and were very pleased with his character and integrity. They made note of this when they drafted him and when they signed him. Now a year and a half later DV wants everyone to believe the kid is a cancer.

I agree with Shane, but his first, FIRST mistake was to choose to be a running back at Penn State.

Interesting points about the agent....but I would say LJ's first mistake was...
Not beating out Blaylock for the #2 RB slot! If he could actually beat out Derrick Blaylock, this would be a non-issue. |

I mean you spend all that time with the team -- you know that Blaylock actually WON the job through skill rather than by the virtue that he was a coveted Dick Vermeil draft pick... |

I dont understand all i heard from training camp was that LJ is the # 2 guy behind priest and through preseason but when the season gets here he goes from # 2 to # 3, how in the world, and all i heard through training camp and preseason is about how well LJ has been doing how his attitude had changed how he had won the backup role to priest.
So can someone tell me, what in the bleep went on between than and now to demote him to # 3 on the depth chart. Is it DV's love for Blaylock and not Johnson ? What is it ? Last edited by royr17; 10-20-2004 at 11:51 AM.. |
