Chiefs Bring in Kicker, 3 other FAs for look

Chiefs to take a look at another kicker today

The Kansas City Star
September 13, 2005

Lawrence Tynes finally has some competition.

Kicker Todd France was among four free agents scheduled to work out for the Chiefs today. France has gone to training camps with the Vikings, Giants and, this year, the Buccaneers but has never made a regular-season roster. France was the All-NFL Europe kicker this year after making 24 of 34 field goal attempts for Hamburg.

Tynes made two field goal attempts against the Jets but also missed a 32-yard try.

Offensive lineman Tyson Walter, fullback Joey Goodspeed and defensive lineman Alan Harper were also scheduled to work out. Walter played the last three seasons for the Cowboys, making nine starts.

Goodspeed made nine starts over the last two seasons for the Rams. Harper played the last three seasons for the Jets.

Is Mario Fatefehi hurt? If not, I'd think he would be worth a look to fill in at DT.

I'll wager that Fraz will be the first to buy a new Jersey if France becomes KC's kicker.

I've said multiple times, I'd like to see them at least LOOK at Fatefehi or Dorsett Davis(my choice of the 2).....but after Cletius Hunt.

Well, he did say once that if France ever played Denver, he'd be rooting for France.

Does anyone know if this guy can kickoff very well? You know, like inside the 5 yard line or, better yet, into the endzone? Or is one of those that can only kick to the 15-20?

He needs a damn name change.....Fraz's luck, his knickname is probably "bronco".

Jsp....I didn't watch much nflE and don't know anything about the guy.....but I'd ask if the longsnapper was a polish Mine worker and the holder a Dutch Brothel lubrication specialist in the offseason...before not putting an * next to those numbers.

I'm really worried we're not doing more at DT.

I've been saying for a month that DT was my biggest concern on the team. Sharpe and Dixon both looked like....eh pfffffffft.

I'm sure the Chiefs know better than we do, and are "on" the situation.....There may be good reason they haven't addressed it yet...I mean, I'm sure teams are lined up to steal away a LT with no experience prior to preseason.

We are wildly short at DT, especially when you consider there isn't anyone from the practice squad we could bring in (We have Dalton, Siavi and Browning). I don't care much to have Wilkerson on the inside.
