1 Tony Gonzalez KC TE 73 806 11.0 67.2 35 6 9 0 50 68.5 0
2 Chris Cooley WAS TE 66 701 10.6 58.4 28 1 7 0 37 56.1 2

10 Jeremy Shockey NO TE 39 371 9.5 41.2 26 0 3 0 21 53.8

Gates is tied with Gonzo for TD's with 6, and are ahead of the others by a few. I love Gonzo, he is a great player.

He eats other tight ends for snacks before devouring all-pro corners and linebackers for brunch. He is the best. no doubt

Seeing Tony do what he does now really makes you feel like Vermeil's Chiefs underutilized him.

Like I said in that thread, disagree with Carl all you want, he was right to not trade Gonzo for chump change. This guy is still a weapon and still nowhere past his prime, and a great reason why Tyler Thigpen has a chance to succeed. I can't believe teams out there didn't want this guy, yet the Giants get so much for Shockey in return...

His best season ever, statistically, came under the Vermeil administration.

No doubt, Shockey has never been close to as good as Tony, Hell I don't even think Shockey is as good as Tony now.

He is the best however I do not see him playing in KC next year. I think he will seek a trade in the offseason and this time around I think he goes. I miss the days when players retired with the same team. No matter who he ends up with he will always be a Chief in my mind. Much like Joe Montana, Ronnie Lott, Jerry Rice and Roger Graig(sp) all finished up with other teams they will always be 49ers to me.

I wouldnt be so sure about that. If he see's any kind of improvement or feels that the team is going in the right direction he might stop with the trade talk.

From what i've heard he has a great relationship with thigpen and he's starting to have some faith in the kids ability.

Plus there always Carl.We know he really doesnt want to trade him.

You could be right that is if Clark quits jacking around and spends the huge cap space and makes a real effort to bring in the talent to turn a also ran into a contender. I like this Thigpen kid he out played a 60 million dollar QB yesterday on an off day. There is young talent on the roster that said his dad never made that type of move.

KC has won 4 playoff games going back to the NFL/AFL merger. They had a couple of teams on the verge but most from the outside looking in wondered why a team at times with a great defense or offense missing a key player or two didnt pull the trigger to push those teams over the edge and bring a title to KC. Most think it is about keeping asses in the seat and turning a profit, and if luck is a lady maybe a title.
