Trading LJ

I'm in a keeper league with a terrible team. The only bright spot is LJ and we have to keep 4. How terrible you ask? As of right now my keepers are: LJ, Darrell Jackson, Mark Clayton, and Jerricho Cotchery.

I have been offered: Drew Brees, Boldin, and Ahman Green straight up for LJ. I countered that he throw in Donald Driver and I throw in Jackson and we have a deal.

Did I push it too far? This guys keepers after the trade would be: LT, LJ, Steve Smith, and Darrell Jackson. I don't think the difference between Driver and Jackson outweighs the benefit of having LT and LJ in the same backfield.

Thoughts??

we can't give you good advice unless you tell us what your league scoring is..

In fact, no one can intelligently answer a fantasy football question without knowing what type of rules that league has.

It's standard scoring 1 pt per 10 rushing/receiving, 1 pt per 25 yards passing. Rushing/Receiving TDs= 6 points, passing = 4 points.

The only wrinkle is that it's a point per reception league..

Well if the guy has LT and LJ he'll be good right now...

My advice to you is that you are basically getting back a top QB and a very good WR.....I suggest that in a league with 4 keepers most everyone is keeping their RB's right?

As bad as your team is you have what the 1st or 2nd pick? Take Marshawn Lynch or Adrian Peterson...unless some fool didn't keep backs and then I'd need a list...

I'll have the #5 pick. There will be some backs available the likes of Fred Taylor, Jamaal Lewis, Kevin Jones, Lendale White, Chester Taylor, etc.

Ding ding ding...

That means Boldin is far more valuable than he would be in regular leagues...

Thus, you do this deal.

If it wasn't a point per reception league, I'd say to turn it down...but Boldin catches a lot of balls and would be a definite #1 keeper in a points per reception league.

Since it's a points per reception league, you should consider snatching up Adrian Peterson (if he's there) with that #5 pick...

And don't draft Kevin Jones, he's not going to help your team...chances are, he won't even play this year...

Plus, Martz is already touting Tatum Bell as 'the real deal'...he's a pretty good sleeper, you should think about drafting him, too. He should catch some balls as the featured back in Detroit, that's going to be a high octane offense in my opinion.

Most of those guys are way old or unproductive....the only one I'd consider is Taylor but now he's going to split with Peterson...

Are there any other ones? Obviously Boldin is a very valuable player in your league. And I'd be trying to dump LJ I think he won't be as good as he has been ever again.

If I were you I'd be leaning Marshawn Lynch with that pick, I think he'll be the best rookie RB and will get you a lot of reception points and he won't split time like Peterson.

Lynch>Peterson....won't be splitting, better receiver. Buffalo spent money on it's Oline. Lynch has excellent receiving skills he can line up in the slot. Plus he's not injury prone like Peterson has been.

Bell has already been declared a keeper, I'm hoping for Lynch or Peterson with that #5 pick. I'll probably go RB with my first 3 picks.

I'll disagree...

I have a feeling Peterson will be a featured back before week 8...

Lynch, yeah I like the guy, but McGahee couldn't get it done in Buffalo last year...

Big disappointment for me, usually got some decent yards but couldn't find the end zone...what makes you think it will be any different for Lynch? He plays in a division with some real good defenses...

I'll take Peterson, who also has a very good offensive line, in a keeper league before I take Lynch.

Peterson, if he can avoid the injury bug, has LT-like talent.

and Mecca, this is a keeper league...dude's already stated he doesn't have a very good team, which is why he's pawning off LJ (a top 3 fantasy player)...

Why would he take Lynch over AP? Lynch may be the featured back in Buffalo this year, but AP has much more potential...and could be a top fantasy back within two years.

LT-like talent.
