For religious reasons or dieting?
I do it to clean out my system
and shrink my stomach's capacity

I go 24 hrs with out solid food
but all the juice or gaterade I can drink

I used to fast twice a year to get under my hieght/weight allowance for the physical readiness test. After I weighed in I went to McDonalds.

I cannot even imagine how weak I would feel if I did not eat for eight hours yet alone an entire day.

I'm doing it right now. I'm only eating one meal a day and it's protein intensive. Lots of water. Lots of fiber. Very boring but it's good for the body.

I do the same thing from time to time.
To clean out the system & lose a couple of pre swimming weather pounds.

It does make me feel better after the short fast.

Its funny I can eat a horse & my family & friends get a kick out of watching me scarf down more food at one sitting than anyone they know..HOWEVER...I can also go the longest without food.
Going a day or three even is meaningless to me I can easily pull it off.
While most people I know are"Starving to death if they miss one meal"

& no I'm not Way over weight..maybe 20 pounds over.

If I was on survivor for instance food would be a non issue for me..water a diff story though.
I hate cotton mouth!

there is plenty of energy in the natural sugars in the juice
you may in fact bounce of the walls a bit
