2008 Mock Draft -- 3 rounds.

From Walter Football, who as we've discussed are predicting the Chiefs to finish with the worst record in football.

The silver lining is that we get the #1 pick. Who'll probably hold out... but still!

From Walter Cherepenski:

1. Kansas City Chiefs: Brian Brohm, QB, Louisville

Sorry, Chiefs fans - I have your team finishing with the league's worst record in my Final 2007 Season Projections http://walterfootball.com/finalprojections2007.php).

Brodie Croyle? You've gotta be kidding me. Granted, he has nothing to work with except for an aging Tony Gonzalez and Larry Johnson, who will probably get hurt this year, but if the Chiefs end up with the first pick, I can't see them passing on the top quarterback in this deep class.

33. Kansas City Chiefs: Gosder Cherilus, OT, Boston College

Will Kansas City finally come to its senses and realize it needs to draft some offensive linemen to replace the ones that retired? For the sake of Chiefs fans everywhere, I hope so.

65. Kansas City Chiefs: Ezra Butler, OLB, Nevada

I guess we can call Derrick Johnson a bust. He can't tackle anyone.

From Craig Smith, who's kind enough to grant us only the fifth worst record in the NFL:

5. Kansas City Chiefs: Justin King, CB, Penn State

Kansas City's starting corners are in their 13th and 10th seasons respectively. There is no depth behind Ty Law and Patrick Surtain either. In all reality this is a team that needs a whole new secondary; they should be screaming for a trade for Asante Samuel right now.

From Matt McGuire, who's a true Chiefs homer, giving us the #9 pick:

9. Kansas City Chiefs: Chad Henne, QB, Michigan

I am sorry. “Damon Huard/Brodie Croyle Super Bowl quarterback.” I just don’t see that happening. With the departure of JaMarcus Russell, Chad Henne now has the strongest arm in college football. He can throw absolute lasers which thread defenses with ease. I want to see more confidence in the pocket, and he needs to read defenses next season before I call him a potential top-five pick.

Derrick Johnson is a bust? I wouldn't mind the first two round picks.
