Chiefs vs. Raiders Opening Day

Bob Dole knows what part of Bob Dole's game plan would be...
The Raiders are built to make a Super Bowl run this year. But star defensive tackle Darrell Russell has to serve a four-game suspension and Grady Jackson is still rehabbing from shoulder surgery. The rest of Oakland's defensive tackles don't have three starts between them.
I know Jimmy Raye would pass 60 times since they probably won't be able generate much pressure on the pocket.

I was thinking maybe trade for Fatster McCholesterolton...oh wait, you are talking about our game plan....

At least we can be sure of one thing...Saunders will probably at least have a clue as to the type of game to plan...

I would start in a 2 TE set with Richardson in the backfield. Play action and look for DA deep, or one of the TE. I also would run the ball up the gut 70 times 35 carries for Holmes and 35 for T-rich. (Just not on the first play)

Get to Rich Gannon fast, he cannot have time to sit back and pick and choose who he's going to throw to. Containment of their running game is key, keep them going up the middle and let the linebackers do their thing. Our D is faster this year and we need to use that to our advantage. As far as the O is concerned AS will have a game plan that works and will keep them off balance. This is a huge game and a win will get things started in the right direction. GO CHIEFS!!!!!!

God I hate the Raiders.

Hi, my name is "kurt" and I think we should play zone coverage with our corners no less than 12 yards off the line of scrimmage. Our d-line should rush the passer but allow large gaps for easy access to the running backs and nice lanes for limp-arm to throw through.

That sounds like a good plan to me. What do you think, coach?

Hi my name is Jimmie and I'm an stooge. ("Hi Jimmie") Today as I address Stooges Anonyomous I'd like to tell you how I intend to attack the Oakland Raiders Offensive unit. No wait I think that me, I mean them, I mean we do that. Anyway before I was so rudely interrupted by a thought attempting the make the leap across my neurons, I have a plan that I call "The Plan".

First I'm going to set them up by throwing a -4 yard screen with no blockers up the middle to the FB (I love dem fullbacks!) Den I'm going throw 55 passes in the flat to the fullback. and then just when they've smelled that out for like 20-30 plays I'm going to bust Donnell Bennett up the gut! What'd think?? Genius??? (applause) Thank you I thought of it all by myself yup! (applause)

Fade to black....

If we can tackle, we will win easily. Greg Robinson defenses are 7-1 against Gannon, so he knows how to play them. The key is, can the players on defense stay disciplined and focused and stay on their assignments. The last 3 games, defenders have been out of position, we've allowed the dink and dunk big cushions underneath, and everytime they hand it off we miss the tackle. We can't allow any more of those lucky Gannon desperation ducks to be caught at the goalline anymore...

Hi, I'm Mike Stock...

and I'm gonna have Todd Peterson shank the opening kickoff into the Raider sideline, so the Raiders can start on their own 30 and Kurt and Willie can maximize the use of our superb zone "prevent" defense.

If we can keep Wheatly and/or Garner from running wild we win. If either or both gets 100yrds, we lose.

As HB said, attack their safeties. I'd throw lots o slants and posts to DA and Mayes. Back the safeties up and then bring Gonzo over the middle. Hopefully Moses or Hall will be healthy. We need their speed against the CB's.
