The tickets are $112 and I paid a $9.60 ticketmaster service fee.
$121.60

Good luck with the sale, Bill.
I'm amazed at the number of tickets available. People just aren't interested in going, or have no clue how much tickets actually cost. People think (incorrectly) that prices on CL and Ebay are too high and aren't buying. My tickets, for example, are upper level and cost $115 per. For some reason, people are expecting to get tickets at regular season face value. |

Search completed listings on Ebay, and you'll see a bunch that didn't sell, and a lot that sold for face value or LESS. I had an extra pair of 1st row uppers and didn't get a bite. |

Seven years ago, if you wanted to get tickets to a playoff game and didn't get in during the Chiefs sale, you'd have to buy tickets from a scalper or on eBay, while people who bought tickets but weren't able to go end up either eating their tickets or giving them away to friends. Now, you've got a ton of options (Ticket Exchange, StubHub, eBay) that make it easier than ever for people to buy tickets from other people. Easier exchange = more tickets "available" = lower prices. (Though there's no question that the economy/withering fan base interest has a lot to do with it as well.) |

What the hell? Mine were $99 each after all fees and I am in Sec 111 row 27. I bought them two weeks ago through my season ticket account. Go figure...

This is the other problem. Tons of people (like yourself) bought extra tickets hoping to make a quick buck on them. Seven years ago, doing that would have taken a lot of effort. These days, it's easy for people to sell, so a bunch of people jumped in expecting prices to be higher than face in the secondary market. That's caused supply to be higher than demand.

P.S. Part of the reason why teams have raised prices over the past decade was to try and reduce secondary sales. They don't make any money when a ticket is sold over face. So, they raise prices up closer to market value so that the team can make the profit instead of the scalper. Sounds to me like the Chiefs priced the playoff tickets pretty close to market value this time around.

I think you missed part of my post - people aren't willing to buy even at face value. |

I just sold my last 4 tickets at face value, they'd been up on Craigslist at what I thought was a reasonable premium for standing out in the cold for 2 hours when they went on sale to Jackson County, got no takers. Found a friend of a friend who is a Chiefs fan and sold them at face value.
