Sac's Post Combine Chiefs Mock
1. Gabe Carimi, OT; Wisconsin: 6’7 ¼ “, 315 lbs.
- 2010 Outland Trophy winner, everybody’s All-American, four year starter at left tackle for the pro-style set Badgers. Went against potential first rounders Ryan Kerrigan, Adrian Clayborn and Cameron Heyward as well as practiced daily against J.J. Watt and kicked ass. Superb run blocker and a very good pass blocker. Athletic for his size and can get into the second level. Plays through the whistle and has a nasty demeanor. Can play either tackle spot at the next level. ![]() 2. Sam Acho, OLB/DE; Texas: 6'2", 262 lbs. - Acho showed a good degree of athleticism and speed at the Combine and looks to be capable of moving to an upright position as a 3-4 OLB in the mold of recent former Longhorn defensive ends Sergio Kindle and Brian Orakpo. Winner of the Campbell Trophy (nations top student athlete), first team Academic All-American and second team Walter Camp as well as multiple leadership and sportmanship awards. Solid character and excellent on the field production. ![]() 3. Austin Pettis, WR; Boise State: 6’2 ½”, 209 lbs. - Broncos all-time leader in receptions and touchdowns, Pettis has a knack for finding the end zone. Plays extremely long with superb hands and precision route running. Isn’t afraid of contact and will extend for the ball in traffic. Very good instincts once the ball is in his hands and heading up the field. ![]() 4. Ian Williams, DT; Notre Dame: 6’1 ½ “, 315 lbs. - Williams is a self admitted run stopper that has suffered under three different defensive coordinators in the past four years. Very thick and stout, he’s very reminiscent of current Bills stud Kyle Williams in terms of build and play style. (A bit undersized for a 3-4 NT, but has the potential to kick ass in that scheme due to mind set, strength and tenacity.) ![]() ![]() 5. Zane Taylor, C; Utah: 6’3”, 313 lbs. - First team All-conference, three year starter, four year first team All-Academic (conference), team captain. Strong, smart and experienced, Taylor has been a rock in the middle for two BCS game appearances. Is very nasty when the ball is snapped and can get to the second level. A very good leverage player as his three time all-state high school wrestling championships pays off in the trenches. ![]() 5. Evan Royster, RB; Penn State: 6'1", 228 lbs. - The all-time rushing leader for the Nittany Lions, Royster isn't flashy or fast (4.65 40 at the Combine), but has been incredibly productive. A big back that has versatility and plays hard. Reminiscent of another productive, big school back that wasn't very fast that fell in the draft in Arian Foster. ![]() 6. Scott Tolzien, QB; Wisconsin: 6’2”, 212 lbs. - Good pocket presence and can make nice throws under pressure. Not a huge arm, but is accurate and goes through his reads quickly. Has a lot of potential in a Haley system. ![]() 7. Dane Sanzenbacher, WR; Ohio State: 5'11", 185 lbs. - Team MVP and Captain for the 2010 season. Willing to make the tough catch in traffic and has good focus. Is a very good runner after the catch and is precise in his routes. Smart and very instinctive. Ran a 4.59 40 at the combine. ![]() Last edited by Saccopoo; 03-02-2011 at 02:57 PM.. |
