Texas vs Nation All-Star Game
http://texasvsthenation.com/players/rosters/2011-roster
There are quite a few players in this game who have been mentioned as possible draft picks. Powe and Ellis NT's. Harvey at ILB. Taylor, Kirkpatrick, and Barnes at C to name a few. Could be interesting to see how some of these guys match up in the drills. |

On my D2 draft radar: Stephen Burton, WR, West Texas A&M. This is going to be an uncharacteristically crappy year for D2 draft-worthy talent. Burton is one of the few guys that I think has a real shot at being a 6th or 7th rounder.

**** it. Take Powe in the 3rd or where ever he is expected, then take Ellis too (is the 5th too high or too low for him? Chiefs have 2).

All you Mizzou homers - what about this kid???
Tim Barnes, C, Missouri Barnes consistently won one-on-one battles Thursday and was even able to block Powe. He played with a very strong base and showed good quickness and the ability to recover quickly. He uses his hands very well and consistently displayed excellent competitiveness. trying not to get my hopes up for Powe...
and MU fans, what is the deal with Barnes? is he someone that could play next year, or is worth grabbing as a developmental player?

I'm expecting this too. The guy was a beast as a junior. I watched several Ole Miss games on CBSCollege after we drafted McCluster and Lewis just to see what those two were like. And in every game, Powe stood out big time up in the middle of the line.
From what I understand, the coaching staff moved him to a different position along the line this season. If so, that could be one of the worst coaching decisions of all time. |

Tim Barnes, C, Missouri Tim Barnes started his collegiate career as an offensive guard. After redshirting in 2006, Barnes moved to the center spot prior to the 2007 campaign. There he served as backup to long-time starter Adam Spieker. The following three years Barnes was a permanent fixture on Missouri's offensive line. He stepped into a starting role in 2008 and started all 14 games. He helped pave the way for the Missouri offense that averaged 484.14 yards and 42.21 points per game. The offensive line also only allowed 1.21 sacks per game. For his efforts, Barnes earned All-Big 12 Honorable Mention accolades by the league coaches. In 2009 Barnes played a big role in breaking in new quarterback Blaine Gabbert. While giving Gabbert plenty of time to throw, the offensive line played a much more important role in 2009. It was again Barnes who was the leader of the unit. The passing attack was not as explosive in 2010, but the line only gave up 20 sacks and the Tigers finished 10-2. Barnes certainly deserves a lot of credit for Missouri's success during his senior season and he was rewarded by being named to the All-Big 12 First Team. Barnes will be rewarded again on draft day. He is a three year starter who has plenty of experience and, at 6-4 and 300 pounds, more than enough size to push back opposing linemen. Barnes' stock is rising and he is considered by many as one of the top three centers in this class. That means he should be off the board by the third or fourth round.

I've had Barnes in my recent mocks in the 4th round. My only concern are his shoulders but him in the 4th? All day.
