Help the old man out

Got my monthly Harrah's Casino comps in the mail and the Stir Cove outdoor concert venue in Council Bluffs sent me 2 comp tickets for 4 seperate shows,Melissa Ethridge,Stone Temple Pilots,Ben Folds and Goo Goo Dolls.Of course I have to call to reserve and so far I've just gotten the Ethridge show and also found out I got 2 free night's stay.

So being the old fart that I am I have to admit I've only heard a few songs from STP and nothing from the others,so question is are the others worth the roadtrip?

STP has some good tunes, some of my favorites:

Crackerman (*favorite*)
Dead and Bloated
Interstate Love Song
trippin on a hole in a paper heart
Vaseline
Wicked Garden
Dancin' Days

Their pretty easy on the ears if you enjoy Pearl Jam and such like bands.

Goo Goo Dolls have a lot of women at their shows. And their music isn't half bad. You couldn't pay me to go to a Melissa Ethridge show.

Ben Folds is awesome and completely worth a road trip. He's a piano rock guy who's really good and does a variety of groovin' fast songs, great ballads, and some good smarta** songs.

A couple of examples are: (Can't imbed them, sorry.)

This is a kind of bouncy fun song. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yr_s6...feature=relmfu

Good ballad-type song. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7F5-U...eature=related

My favorite song of his. Ballad. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0vPyg...feature=relmfu

I really like this song, and you have to hear the first couple of lines. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QjJa7BYCiiA

Whoa too bad you didn't catch PURPLE and Core the first time around, core sounds dated as hell because of all the other 90's stuff that was put out, but it is alright. Interstate Love Song, Plush, Crackerman, I love'em Wieland may be dead or forget all the words to the songs though by time you go. I saw STP at rockfest a couple years back. They sounded good.

idk if he is off drugs, there really isn't much range to his voice so everything sounds good no matter how loaded he is anyays. I was surprised how easy he sang and it sound "correct" when I saw them. Vince Neil can eat a dick though, he couldn't remember any words with looped soundtracks etc. I am sure kip winger though remembers all the word while running a 1333 note run while getting head from chewbacca /dane

I saw STP touring for their album No. 4. If they're even half of what they were in '99, they're worth the trip.
