Food and Drink Honey vs Sugar

Many people prefer honey than sugar. From this site, it does show that honey has some nutritional value, but the amount is so little. Is the honey worthy for the price - a 5 lb bottle of Clover honey in Sam's is about $13?

Raw honey is the only way to go. Most of the time if you told me it was sugar instead of honey for sweetness I couldn't tell. If you want some contact info on where to get bulk raw honey in the northland I know of a wonderful gent who'd help you out.

Some people don't like the flavor of honey. I find it to be far superior to sugar for just about every application. It does have an actual flavor, though, so it will add that flavor when used in place of sugar in cooking.

And you'll miss quite a few of the benefits of honey if you don't buy local honey.

I love honey, but can't imagine using it as a substitute for sugar 100% of the time. It does have a flavor.

Refined sugar is about the worst thing you can put into your body. Honey is a lot better choice.

I use honey quite a bit. Oatmeal, with Grape Nuts mixed in and honey on top, with a splash of milk.
But like people say, buy local honey. They even have some flavored with blueberry and other things.

Honey also works as a great Topical Antibiotic. Rub some on a wound instead of some Triple antibiotic.

If you're switching to honey from sugar for weight control, it's a wash. It doesn't matter either way.

If you're doing it for some other reason, like allergy control or because you like the taste, carry on.
